Celebrating the Spirit of Freedom: 80th Independence Day
DM's PVS SM Kushe Higher Secondary School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm, with Adv. Rajesh Narvekar as the Chief Guest and Sir Sagar Salkar
as the Guest of Honour. The celebration featured inspiring patriotic song, speeches and poems presented by the students, reflecting their love and pride for the nation. The programme was a memorable tribute to the spirit of freedom, unity and patriotism.
A Celebration of Service, Creativity & the Joy of Reading
The Joint Installation Ceremony of the NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club was held on 12th August 2026 at the Late Shri Hanumant M. Shirodkar Hall of the Higher Secondary School which inspired
students to embrace social responsibility and contribute meaningfully to society, guided by the principle “Youth for a Healthy Society.”
The occasion also witnessed the inauguration of the school wall papers, “Akshargandha” and “Blossoms,” which provided a vibrant platform to showcase the creative and literary talents of the
students. The celebration of National Librarian Day further highlighted the significant role of libraries in fostering knowledge, imagination, creativity and lifelong learning.
The programme was graced by Prof. M. Shanthi, Officiating Principal, D.M.’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, Bardez-Goa, as the Chief Guest.
Business Fair 4.0: From Classroom Concepts to Real-World Commerce!
The Business Studies Department of our Higher Secondary School successfully organised the Business Fair 4.0 on 8th August 2026 at the HSS Gymkhana.
The fair was inaugurated by CA Milind Shirodkar, Treasurer of Dnyanprassarak Mandal, who encouraged students to nurture their entrepreneurial spirit. Std. XI Commerce students showcased their
creativity and business skills through multiple food stalls, gaining hands-on experience in marketing, sales and customer interaction. The vibrant participation and enthusiastic support of the
Teaching and Non-teaching staff and students made the fair a memorable and successful event.
PTA Meeting: Building Stronger Parent–School Partnerships
PTA Meeting was held on 1st August 2026 at Late Hanumant M. Shirodkar Memorial Hall. Students who secured distinction in the Goa Board Higher Secondary School Examination 2026 were
felicitated for their outstanding academic performance. The new PTA Committee for the next two academic years (2026-2027 and 2027-2028) was constituted, strengthening the partnership
between parents and the school.
Honouring the Guiding Lights: Guru Purnima Celebrated with Devotion
Guru Purnima was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 29th July 2026. The programme began with the chanting of shloka followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. A traditional pooja was
performed by Shri Sagar Salkar, senior teacher and Mrs. Sharmila Shetye, Lab Assistant , creating a spiritual atmosphere. Principal Shri Rajaram Narvekar addressed the gathering with an inspiring message, emphasizing the significance of gurus in shaping our lives. Students expressed their gratitude through speeches, poems, songs, and cultural performances. The celebration concluded on a heartfelt note, reminding everyone to respect and appreciate their teachers.
Student Council 2026–27 Inauguration and Snehadeep Charity Drive: Inspiring Leadership Through Community Service
The Student Council 2026–27 was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Minesh Tar, Assistant Director of Transport, marking the beginning of a new journey of
leadership, responsibility, and service. As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the Council also organized its annual Snehadeep Charity Drive, encouraging students and staff to
contribute essential grocery and utility items for the homeless people sheltered by Jeevan Anand Sanstha.
